PES Dual LayerBPS is a family of biological grade, single and dual layer Polyethersulfone (PES) filters. They are designed with a single Asymmetric PES membrane and have the option of adding a High Capacity PES prefilter layer.

  • Delivers high flow across a wide pH range
  • Low binding characteristics (much lower than cellulose acetate and nylon) for filtering liquids with preservatives and proteins that can adsorb to media
  • Optional integrated prefilter saves space by eliminating separate prefilter and housing
  • Prefilter extends the life of the final filter

Validation

BPS filters are validated for bioburden control using test procedures that comply with ASTM F 838-15(ae1) protocols for the determination of bacterial reduction in filters used for liquid filtration. The filters are challenged with the organisms listed below.

  • 0.03μm: Acholeplasma laidlawii 
  • 0.10μm: Brevundimonas diminuta
  • 0.22μm: Brevundimonas diminuta
  • 0.45μm: Serratia marcescens
  • 0.65μm: Saccharomyces cerevisiae

BPS Capsules

These filters are BPS cartridges encapsulated in a polypropylene shell to minimize exposure to process fluids. A popular choice for single-use applications and can be disposed of easily. Sizes range from 2-30 inches in length. BPS Capsules are available pre-sterilized.

BPS Mini-Capsule

Mini-capsules are designed for lab scale testing, process development and small batch production with a filtration area of 500 cm2. BPS Mini-Capsules are available pre-sterilized.
